Revenue Accountant

About the role

The Revenue Accountant will join BURAQ AIR TRANSPORT’s finance team in Benghazi, supporting the airline’s passenger and cargo revenue streams. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate revenue recording, recognition, and reporting in line with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record, monitor and reconcile passenger and cargo revenue, including ticket sales and ancillary fees.
• Prepare and post journal entries, manage month‑end closing and accruals related to flight operations.
• Ensure revenue is recognized accurately according to applicable accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and perform variance and trend analyses.
• Collaborate with finance, operations and audit teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain documentation for audits.
• Improve revenue reporting processes and support compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to interpret revenue data and identify trends.
• Proficiency in revenue recognition principles and experience applying accounting standards in an aviation or service environment.
• Hands‑on experience with journal entries, reconciliation and month‑end closing.
• Ability to prepare, review and analyze financial statements.
• Knowledge of accruals and deferred revenue calculations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset.
• Prior experience in airlines, transportation or a similar industry is an advantage.
