Finance Accountant

About the role

Sofra Services, which operates across retail, food services, hospitality and business development, is hiring a full-time, on-site Finance Accountant in Libya. The role covers the preparation and review of financial statements, accurate general ledger maintenance and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily bookkeeping and maintain accurate general ledger entries
• Reconcile accounts and process invoices and payments
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Prepare financial reports for management
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and work closely with auditors
• Support process improvements and help optimize financial workflows

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA is an advantage
• Solid understanding of restaurant/F&B finance and accounting
• Prior experience in retail, food services or hospitality is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on site

Required skills

• Proficiency in financial statements and financial reporting, including preparation, review and analysis
• Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems for day-to-day financial operations
• Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations applicable in the UAE and international contexts
