Risk Deputy Manager

About the role

The Risk Deputy Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Benghazi, Libya. The role supports the Head of Risk in overseeing the bank’s risk management framework, covering credit, market, operational and liquidity risks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor risk exposures across all business lines.
• Review and analyse risk reports on a regular basis.
• Ensure timely escalation of key risk issues to senior management.
• Assess new products and initiatives from a risk perspective.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with business units, internal audit and compliance functions.
• Strengthen controls and improve risk data quality.
• Support risk training and awareness programmes across the bank.

Required profile

• Strong risk analysis, assessment and reporting skills within banking or financial services.
• Experience in policy development, internal control review and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise documentation and presentations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Problem‑solving, critical‑thinking and decision‑making under time pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field; postgraduate qualification or professional certification is a plus.
