Senior Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects Supervision

About the role

Emkan Consulting & Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the supervision of major infrastructure projects in Benghazi. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical quality and compliance of mechanical works across water supply, wastewater, irrigation, and treatment plant systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision of mechanical works for pumping stations, treatment plants, water and wastewater networks, and irrigation systems.
• Review and approve engineering designs, shop drawings, and hydraulic/mechanical calculations.
• Validate mechanical equipment and material submissions against project specifications and international standards.
• Manage technical submittals, inspection requests, RFIs, and coordinate with design and construction teams.
• Issue and follow up on Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover of mechanical systems.
• Prepare periodic technical reports and participate in coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project management requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects, specifically pumping stations, treatment plants, water supply, wastewater, and irrigation systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems used in large‑scale infrastructure.
• Proven ability to review shop drawings and hydraulic/mechanical calculations.
• Excellent understanding of project management and engineering supervision procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
