WASH Programme Coordinator (Libya)

About the role

The WASH Programme Coordinator will provide technical leadership for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) activities in Libya, ensuring they meet project objectives, donor requirements and COOPI standards. This role involves overseeing field implementation, monitoring performance, and supporting adaptive programme management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor WASH interventions in line with the project logical framework and Common Humanitarian Standards.
• Supervise technical studies, assessments and consultancy services, guaranteeing quality control of deliverables and infrastructure specifications.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to verify quality, compliance and timely delivery of activities.
• Collect and analyse field data, environmental information and WASH performance indicators to inform programme adjustments.
• Develop stakeholder mapping for municipal WASH services, water supply, wastewater management, agricultural water resources and solid waste management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating WASH programmes in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, CHS standards and logical framework monitoring.
• Ability to lead technical teams, manage consultants and ensure high‑quality outputs.
• Excellent analytical skills for data collection, analysis and reporting.
