Electrical Engineer – Diesel Generators & Heavy Equipment

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our technical team in Libya, supporting the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of diesel generator sets and the electrical systems of heavy construction equipment. The role involves close collaboration with our service department to ensure reliable performance for customers across construction, mining, oil & gas and other critical sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, test and inspect diesel generator sets and associated electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in diesel generators and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot generator control systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), synchronization systems and electrical protection devices.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Configure and troubleshoot generator controllers such as Deep Sea Electronics (DSE), ComAp, Woodward or equivalent.
• Conduct electrical testing using diagnostic equipment and prepare technical reports.
• Provide on‑site technical support and field service across Libya when required.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience working with diesel generators and heavy‑equipment electrical systems.
