Protection Specialist – Child Protection

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Specialist focused on Child Protection to lead and enhance child protection programming across Algeria, Libya and Tunisia. The role provides technical guidance, supervision and quality assurance for child protection interventions within the ALT Country office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement child protection programmes, including case management and child‑friendly spaces, for the three countries.
• Produce technical guidance, tools and SOPs to ensure consistent, high‑quality implementation.
• Provide ongoing technical support, monitoring and supervision to protection staff.
• Coordinate with protection managers, project managers and information‑management specialists to adapt programmes and develop data‑collection systems.
• Promote compliance with DRC standards, code of conduct and internal procedures.
• Support M&E activities, data analysis and reporting for donors and coordination forums.

Required profile

• Relevant higher‑education degree in protection, social work, humanitarian studies or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and managing child protection programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Strong capacity‑building and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple country offices and with diverse stakeholders.
