Alfalfa Farm Manager (Expat) – Libya

About the role

Our client is looking for a visionary Alfalfa Farm Manager to lead all agricultural operations on a large farm in Libya. The role combines strategic planning, day‑to‑day farm management and coordination with external advisors to maximise yield and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all farm activities, including crop production, fertilisation, chemical application, soil conservation and harvesting.
• Plan and manage the purchase of equipment, machinery, spare parts and services.
• Develop and enforce the Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) programme and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate training programmes for safety, equipment operation and crop health.
• Implement the company’s regenerative agriculture strategy while maintaining productivity.
• Manage the supply chain for hay bales, from farm loading to transport to the port in Benghazi.
• Prepare budgets, monitor direct farm costs and support the Managing Director in financial planning.
• Collaborate with external consultants and advisors on crop rotation and land utilisation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing alfalfa production and large‑scale crop operations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise diverse farm teams.
• Strong analytical abilities for budgeting, cost control and performance reporting.
• Willingness to work on an 8‑weeks‑on / 2‑weeks‑off rotation schedule.
