Anaesthesia Technologist – Misrata, Libya

About the role

We are recruiting a skilled Anaesthesia Technologist to join the anaesthesia and operating theatre team at a leading hospital in Libya. You will support anaesthetists by preparing, operating and maintaining anaesthesia equipment, helping ensure safe and smooth care for patients before, during and after surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and check anaesthesia machines, monitors, ventilators and airway equipment before each procedure.
• Assist anaesthetists with patient monitoring, airway management and the set‑up of anaesthesia and drug delivery.
• Set up and calibrate patient monitoring equipment, including ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and capnography.
• Maintain anaesthesia supplies, medications and consumables, ensuring they are stocked and ready for use.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain anaesthesia equipment in line with infection‑control protocols and perform routine equipment checks.

Required profile

• Certification or associate degree in Anaesthesia Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anaesthesia Technologist in an operating theatre setting.
• Current BLS certification (ACLS is an advantage).
• Good working knowledge of English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Willingness to relocate to Libya.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of anaesthesia machines.
• Experience with ventilators.
• Proficiency with patient monitoring equipment (ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, capnography).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
