Cable Repair Operator - Benghazi

About the role

Baker Hughes is looking for a Cable Repair operator in Benghazi to support the installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems. The role works closely with Installation Engineers, Service Delivery Coordinators, rig personnel and customers to ensure safe and effective field operations. The internal title for the role is FIELD OPER II - FLD.

Key responsibilities

• Spool electrical power cable onto cable reels during ESP retrieval operations.
• Band electrical cable to tubing during ESP installation activities.
• Conduct field analysis and testing of cable strings after well retrieval operations.
• Perform routine maintenance on cable service equipment, trucks and trailers.
• Identify equipment issues and support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Complete DOT logbooks, inspection forms and other operational documentation.
• Support cable repair activities and equipment laydown operations as requested by customers.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, legal compliance requirements and core values.
• Communicate with customers and adapt to changing operational requirements.
• Assist in ESP installation and artificial lift operations.

Required profile

• Technical diploma in a related field.
• 3-4 years of experience in ESP installations and artificial lift operations.
• Fluent Arabic and English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work in field environments and remote locations, including flexible schedules and travel as required.
• Willingness to work in Benghazi.
