Process Automation Engineer

About the role

Demo S.A., one of the world's largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in injectable facilities, is looking for a Process Automation Engineer based in Tripoli. The engineer implements business processes on a workflow platform to improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Program, configure, maintain and optimise industrial automation systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation and electrical issues on production and packaging lines
• Modify and improve existing PLC programs and take part in automation upgrades and migrations (e.g. Siemens S5 to S7)
• Develop, configure and maintain HMI systems (Siemens WinCC or equivalent) and monitor and support SCADA systems
• Commission new equipment and automation systems, and install and integrate new production equipment
• Read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams and support automation control panels
• Work with production, maintenance and engineering teams to improve process efficiency

Required profile

• Degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering (TEI / AEI) with good command of technical English
• Strong experience with Siemens PLCs (S5, S7), TIA Portal and PLC programming (Ladder, FBD, STL), including troubleshooting, modification and migration projects
• Experience with HMI (WinCC or equivalent) and knowledge of SCADA systems
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus)
• Hands-on experience with drives/inverters, servo motors, industrial sensors and control panels
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, with experience in production and packaging lines
• Problem-solving, organisational skills and structured technical thinking
