Document Controller and Technical Coordinator

About the role

Matla Design, an international architecture and engineering practice founded in 2008, is looking for an experienced document controller with building construction experience and strong AutoCAD skills to join its site team in Benghazi. The role is full time, resident on site, starting as soon as possible, and sits within the team supervising a major hospital project. It is not a filing post: the holder keeps the record, moves every open item to closure and supports the engineers with drafting.

Key responsibilities

• Register every document received or issued with a transmittal and keep the site file matched to the head office archive
• Keep the register of current drawings and specifications, issue revisions and withdraw superseded copies
• Run the project logs (RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, inspection requests, non-conformance reports, site instructions) with dates and age of open items
• Keep minutes and action lists for site and coordination meetings and follow up open actions daily
• Check every outgoing document for reference, revision, attachments and recipients
• Prepare sketches, mark-ups and record drawings, compare shop drawings with issued design, and keep daily attendance and photo records
• Compile site records for weekly and monthly reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or civil engineering
• 5+ years on building construction projects, at least 3 in site document control or technical coordination
• Arabic and English, spoken and written, including minutes and follow-up notes in both
• Nice to have: hospital or healthcare projects, consultant or supervision experience, Revit and electronic document management systems, Turkish

Required skills

• AutoCAD: producing and editing drawings, sketches and mark-ups without help
• Advanced Excel: building and running registers and logs
• Word and Outlook; PDF mark-up and comparison software

Work is full time on site in Benghazi, Saturday to Thursday, with daily site walks in full PPE under site HSE rules.
