Facilities Management Assistant – UN Mission Support

About the role

The Facilities Management Assistant supports the Chief Engineer and the Engineering & Facilities Management unit of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). Based in Tripoli, the role ensures smooth operation of mission facilities, coordinates contractors, and provides logistical support for daily activities and events.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief of Section with administrative tasks related to ongoing projects.
• Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
• Coordinate supplies, services, and vendor contracts, including cleaning, laundry, and dining.
• Conduct inspections, verify contractor performance, and approve invoices.
• Provide logistics support for briefings, conferences, and mission headquarters operations.
• Liaise with IT, communications, and warehousing to ensure equipment installation and material availability.
• Support the claims officer with write‑off cases and other logistical needs.

Required profile

• Experience in facilities or project administration, preferably in an international or humanitarian setting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities with internal teams and external vendors.
