Head Waiter - Fine Dining

About the role

The Head Waiter leads the front-of-house service team in a fine dining restaurant in Tripoli, Libya, reporting to the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager. The role ensures high standards of guest service, presentation, operational efficiency and team performance, supervising waiters and runners, coordinating service flow and handling guest concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fine dining service to company standards, anticipating guest needs and resolving complaints promptly
• Monitor table service, food presentation and timing
• Supervise, train and brief waiters and runners, including grooming, hygiene and uniform standards
• Coordinate kitchen and service teams, manage table allocations and check mise en place before service
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation policies and support inventory control
• Promote menu items and beverages through upselling and support revenue and satisfaction targets

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or a related field preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years in F&B service, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role in fine dining, a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality
• Experience in GCC countries or international hospitality brands is an advantage

Required skills

• Leadership, team management and strong communication skills
• Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage
