Maintenance Planning Engineer

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position in Sabratha focuses on developing and maintaining comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for oil‑and‑gas equipment and facilities. The engineer ensures that preventive and corrective activities are prioritized, executed on time, and aligned with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and optimise maintenance plans and schedules.
• Prepare work orders, define scopes, and estimate required labour, materials, and tools.
• Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and supply‑chain teams to secure resources and minimise downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance, maintain accurate history records, and analyse failures and recurring issues.
• Recommend improvements to maintenance strategies and asset reliability.
• Maintain data integrity in the CMMS/EAM system and generate reports/KPIs.
• Support shutdown and turnaround planning.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSE, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong maintenance planning and scheduling expertise, including work‑order management and resource allocation.
• Proficiency with CMMS/EAM tools and solid MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems used in oil & gas and ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience analysing maintenance data, equipment performance, and failure trends.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, organisational, and time‑management abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field (relevant diplomas with substantial experience may be considered).
• Previous experience in maintenance planning or reliability engineering within oil & gas or a similar industrial environment.
• Familiarity with HSE standards and best practices.
