Protection Officer – GBV & Child Protection

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Protection Officer to lead gender‑based violence (GBV) and child protection (CP) interventions in its Libya country office. Reporting to the Senior Programme Coordinator and Programme Manager, the officer will support vulnerable migrants traveling the Central Mediterranean Route.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor GBV and child protection programmes in line with IOM policies.
- Provide case management, psychosocial support and referral services to survivors and migrant children.
- Collect, analyse and report data on protection outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with government, UN agencies, NGOs and community partners to ensure a coordinated response.
- Conduct training and capacity‑building sessions for staff and partners on GBV and CP best practices.
Required profile
- Relevant university degree in social sciences, humanitarian assistance, public health or related field.
- Experience working on GBV and child protection in migration or humanitarian contexts.
- Strong understanding of international protection standards and IOM procedures.
- Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
