Protection Team Leader – Child Protection

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Team Leader to oversee its Child Protection programme in Tripoli. The role combines technical oversight of case management, child‑friendly spaces and school interventions with the management of a team of eleven protection staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise one Child Protection Officer and ten Protection Assistants, ensuring compliance with DRC policies and CP Minimum Standards.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, performance management and professional development of team members.
• Organise field presence, workload distribution and leave planning to maintain programme continuity.
• Provide technical supervision, conduct field visits and deliver trainings on child protection concepts for staff and partners.
• Monitor and ensure fidelity of interventions, including case management, child‑friendly spaces and community‑based mechanisms.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of child protection concepts and standards.
• Proven experience managing protection teams in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to coach, supervise and build capacity of staff.
• Strong commitment to DRC’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding principles.
