Seaman – Mooring Launch Operator Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Seaman to support our launch operators in safely operating and maintaining mooring launches. The role involves assisting with tanker mooring, hose handling, barge towing and harbour maintenance while ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist launch operators in mooring tankers, lifting, connecting and disconnecting cargo hoses.
• Support towing of barges and other craft, and transport personnel between shore and ships.
• Perform preventive maintenance on the hull of mooring launches, mooring buoys, navigation aids and harbour installations.
• Keep launches clean, carry out running repairs and ensure proper condition of equipment.
• Follow company training programs for accident and fire prevention both afloat and ashore.
• Participate in language, seamanship and radio‑telephone communication training.

Required profile

• Maximum age of 35 years with good health, vision and hearing.
• Ability to swim and not be prone to sea‑sickness.
• Valid Seaman permit issued by the Libyan Maritime Inspection Bureau.
• At least 2 years of experience as a seaman.

Required skills

• Handling of mooring ropes and wires.
• Handling of cargo hoses.
• Preventive hull and equipment maintenance.
• Maintenance of mooring buoys and navigation aids.
• Radio‑telephone communications.
