Site Cost Controller – Construction Project

About the role

ZALA Global is seeking a Site Cost Controller to join the team on a construction project in Benghazi, Libya. The role focuses on monitoring, controlling, and reporting all project‑related costs directly from the site, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly project costs on site.
• Track actual expenses against the approved budget and cost codes.
• Record costs for materials, equipment, manpower, subcontractors, fuel, logistics and site services.
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, planning and site teams to gather cost data.
• Prepare cost reports, budget comparisons, variance analyses and cash‑flow updates.
• Support the preparation of monthly cost control reports for management.
• Review purchase requests, orders, invoices and subcontractor payment records from a cost‑control perspective.
• Identify cost overruns, risks and deviations from the approved budget.
• Maintain organized cost control documentation and reporting files.

Required profile

• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Proven cost‑control experience on construction sites.
• Experience in Libya, North Africa, the Middle East or similar environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, reporting and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work in a dynamic onsite environment and collaborate with multiple departments.
