Environmental Health & Safety Specialist – Health and Safety

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our North Africa (NAF) HSE team at Baker Hughes. You will support eight countries, ensuring compliance with local regulations and our internal HSE management system while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice in industrial hygiene, injury & illness prevention, ergonomics, electrical safety and process safety management across multiple sites.
• Assist functional managers on projects, processes and procedures related to health and safety.
• Coordinate and communicate design and safety services with colleagues and business units.
• Lead or contribute to small‑scale projects with timelines of 3‑6 months and monitor impact for up to a year.
• Develop and maintain documentation to meet local laws and Baker Hughes HSE standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related field.
• At least 9 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety and 8 years specifically in health and safety.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Proven capability to influence, lead small teams and manage several projects simultaneously.
