Business Development Lead

About the role

The Business Development Lead (BDL) is responsible for shaping market strategy, building a robust opportunity pipeline and driving revenue growth for the assigned business portfolio. This role works closely with marketing, commercial and technical teams to launch new services, products and commercial models.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market direction, customer drivers and regional needs to define growth strategy.
• Own the end‑to‑end opportunity management process, from early engagement through tender submission, negotiation and contract hand‑over.
• Develop and enforce business models, service level agreements and pricing for new offerings.
• Lead proposal strategy, content creation and commercial modelling, coordinating technical, operational, legal and risk reviews.
• Support marketing and commercial teams, identify new markets, partnerships and ways to reach existing customers.
• Maintain customer relationships, attend industry events and capture market intelligence.
• Ensure accurate forecasting of revenue, activity and pipeline integrity.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs within the assigned geography.
• Proven ability to build and manage a high‑quality opportunity pipeline.
• Experience leading complex proposals, tenders and contract negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder management across commercial, technical and legal functions.
• Ability to translate market insights into actionable growth and pricing strategies.
