About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Child Protection Associate to support its Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) programme in Libya. The role will contribute to the protection and well‑being of vulnerable migrants, especially unaccompanied children, women and the elderly, throughout their stay, return journey and reintegration.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct child‑protection assistance and case management to migrants and returnees in Libya.
- Coordinate with national authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners to ensure protection standards are met.
- Monitor and report on protection risks, exploitation and gender‑based violence incidents.
- Support the design and implementation of psychosocial support activities for children and families.
- Contribute to data collection, tracking and documentation of protection outcomes.
Required profile
- University degree in Social Work, Child Protection, Psychology, International Development or a related field.
- Relevant experience working with vulnerable migrant populations, refugees or internally displaced persons.
- Knowledge of international protection standards and humanitarian principles.
- Ability to work in a challenging security environment and adapt to multicultural teams.
