About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a qualified General Practitioner with a pediatric focus to join its health team in Brak Alshatie, Libya. You will deliver primary health care to children under five, support vaccination campaigns, and provide emergency medical services in hard‑to‑reach communities affected by recent crises.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients, with an emphasis on children under five years of age.
- Ensure vaccination provision in selected health facilities and outreach sites.
- Provide daily curative services at detention centres, IDP camps, and primary health‑care centres.
- Deliver first‑aid, emergency medical care, triage and referrals to secondary facilities.
- Participate in rescue‑at‑sea operations and coordinate with IRC and UNHC notifications.
Required profile
- Medical degree and valid licence to practice as a General Practitioner.
- Experience in pediatric primary care, preferably in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
- Ability to work under the supervision of the Health Manager and follow national and international protocols.
- Willingness to serve vulnerable populations, including refugees, IDPs and migrants.

- Vaccination administration and cold‑chain management.
- First‑aid and emergency medical response.
