Head of Procurement Unit

About the role

Presto, Libya’s leading food and grocery delivery platform, is seeking a Head of Procurement Unit to lead the development and management of its supplier network. The role focuses on securing the best source prices, optimizing profit margins, and ensuring product availability across the marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, credit, and promotional support with key suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
• Expand and diversify the supplier base by establishing direct relationships with manufacturers and primary distributors.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery reliability, product quality, price stability, and responsiveness.
• Oversee purchase order execution, coordinate with logistics to guarantee timely deliveries to the central warehouse, and work with sales to anticipate seasonal demand.
• Resolve operational and financial disputes, manage returns, and enforce penalty clauses for near‑expiry products.
• Recommend approval or suspension of suppliers based on performance evaluations and represent Presto in high‑level negotiations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, supplier acquisition, and commercial negotiation, preferably within fast‑moving consumer goods or e‑commerce.
• Strong track record of managing supplier relationships and driving cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ability to collaborate closely with logistics, sales, and finance teams to align procurement with business objectives.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to address supply disruptions and commercial disputes.
