WPE and CP Capacity Building Consultant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Capacity Building Consultant to lead training and knowledge‑strengthening activities on Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) and Child Protection (CP). The consultant will work closely with government actors, the Ministry of Social Affairs and local NGOs to assess needs, develop materials and deliver trainings that align with IRC policies and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training needs assessments with key stakeholders (government, MOSA, NGOs).
• Identify gaps in knowledge on Child Protection and Violence‑Against‑Women, including referral mechanisms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to select participants for each training topic.
• Develop context‑specific training curricula and materials based on identified needs.
• Deliver training sessions on CP principles, VAW prevention and response, and system strengthening.
• Monitor training outcomes using baseline surveys, pre‑ and post‑tests, and follow‑up interviews; provide recommendations for improvement.
• Coordinate logistical aspects of trainings (venue, catering) with the WPE&CP Manager and Capacity Building Officer.
• Work with the IRC Social Media Officer to ensure visibility of the IRC and donor across all training activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in capacity‑building or training delivery within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong knowledge of child protection and gender‑based violence frameworks.
• Proven ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and international donors.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and documentation skills.
• Solutions‑driven attitude and passion for improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
