National Border Governance Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Border Governance Officer to support its migration management portfolio in Libya. Working under the Chief of Mission and directly supervised by the Senior Programme Coordinator (IBG), the officer will help coordinate programmes with the Ministry of Interior and monitor activities against agreed frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior IBG Programme Coordinator in planning, coordinating and monitoring the IBG programme portfolio.
• Facilitate collaboration with national authorities, especially the Ministry of Interior, and other migration‑related partners.
• Track programme implementation and ensure compliance with established frameworks.
• Provide regular updates to the Chief of Mission’s office and relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating migration or border‑governance programmes with national authorities.
• Familiarity with the migration context in Libya and the broader region.
• Ability to monitor programme activities and report on progress.
