Payroll Specialist – Construction

About the role

Khalifa Holding Group is hiring a Payroll Specialist to manage and process the organization’s payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely salary calculations and accurate attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions, and payroll records. The role requires strong payroll expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, and project/site teams within a heavy construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Payroll processing and administration: process monthly payroll accurately and on time, review attendance, overtime, shifts, leaves, allowances and deductions, calculate salaries, bonuses and other entitlements, and maintain payroll records.
• Payroll control and compliance: review payroll data, resolve discrepancies, coordinate reconciliation with HR and Finance, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and support audits.
• Reporting and analytics: prepare payroll reports and management summaries, use Excel for analysis and data management, support Power BI dashboards, and analyse payroll costs and discrepancies.
• Coordination and process improvement: work with HR, Finance and site teams on payroll data, handle employee inquiries, maintain ERP payroll data, and identify opportunities to improve processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in heavy construction, contracting, engineering or a similar labor‑intensive industry.
• Experience handling payroll for site‑based or project‑based large workforces.
• Good to very good English proficiency.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, PivotTables, lookups, data analysis).
• Working knowledge of Power BI for basic dashboard and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems for payroll, HR or employee data management.
