Peacebuilding Specialist

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a national Peacebuilding Specialist to support the design, implementation and quality assurance of peacebuilding activities in Libya. You will work closely with programme staff, civil society partners and local authorities to ensure conflict‑sensitive programming.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the conflict context and provide regular updates to the line manager.
• Conduct participatory conflict analyses in areas of intervention.
• Develop technical guidance, tools and SOPs for high‑quality peacebuilding activities.
• Facilitate civil‑society engagement, community dialogues and awareness‑raising on social cohesion and human rights.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting, including indicator tracking and donor reporting.
• Deliver trainings on conflict analysis, sensitivity and management to staff and partners.
• Identify entry points to promote social cohesion and strengthen programme design.
• Contribute technical inputs to concept notes and project proposals.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in peacebuilding, conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity or related fields.
• University degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce technical guidance and tools.
• Knowledge of the conflict dynamics in Libya.
