Protection from Violence Technical Officer – Tripoli, Libya

About the role

The Protection from Violence Technical Officer will support the implementation of NRC’s Protection from Violence (PfV) and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) core competencies in Tripoli. The role combines technical oversight, financial tracking, quality monitoring and direct case management to ensure that vulnerable IDPs, returnees and refugees receive safe and effective protection services.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines and PfV/ICLA core competency standards.
• Lead technical activities of PfV projects, including quality control, monitoring and documentation.
• Track financial expenditures related to technical activities and report on budget utilisation.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to project staff and partners.
• Conduct protection case management: intake, assessment, client‑centred planning, follow‑up and psychosocial support.
• Refer cases to appropriate partners and maintain accurate, confidential case files and database entries.
• Draft trend analyses, protection gap reports and regular progress updates for line managers.
• Participate in internal case management, planning meetings and coordination forums.

Required profile

• Experience in protection case management within humanitarian settings.
• Familiarity with NRC protection guidelines and the PfV/ICLA framework.
• Ability to work with IDPs, returnees and refugees, promoting their rights.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to confidentiality.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate with staff and partners.
