Quantity Surveyor – MEP (Mechanical & Electrical)

About the role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor specialised in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) to join our Benghazi office. The role will manage commercial and contractual aspects of MEP works from tender through to final account, supporting cost‑control and procurement for our projects in Libya.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, Bills of Quantities and tender documents with a focus on MEP systems.
• Evaluate tenders, support procurement, vet contractors and advise on procurement strategies and cash‑flow planning.
• Measure, value and assess variations, interim valuations and payment certifications ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage subcontractor valuations and assist in negotiation of final accounts.
• Draft and administer contracts, including FIDIC‑based forms, and monitor contractual compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and senior leadership to produce commercial updates, tender reports and client recommendations.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering (QS specialisation preferred).
• Several years of experience delivering MEP quantity surveying services on residential, commercial, hospitality or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, valuation processes and cost‑control principles.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with fluency in English.
